Campaign Objective
The Campaign’s business objective was to engage customers with the Bank’s financing products, such as Personal Finance, Home Finance and Car Finance. The Bank created the largest authentic digital testimonial campaign ever done by a bank. It pioneered an amazingly simple idea based on real people and their interaction with social media. If a customer is facing a financial difficulty of some sort, or sees an opportunity for growth through financing, he could share his story on a website developed specifically for this purpose. The stories drew out all the particulars of required financing, giving the Bank a window into what customers want with regards to finance products. Once shared, the customer invited friends and family to vote for it in order to make it the winning story. This easily engaged everyone in the community by generating a chain reaction of word of mouth and customer involvement.
Contribute to an improved brand perception
The Bank is known as a people’s bank with over 3.5 million customers. However, previously very little online engagement has taken place. The competition allowed the bank to leverage its large customer base by bringing them together using a simple online platform in an engaging way: specifically:
- By closely listening to the needs of people by giving them a voice, the brand gained more community involvement.
- The Bank was able to bring order similar minded people together in one online forum, helping to foster a sense of community whilst also developing brand recognition.
- Developing a social platform and using current social links and websites like Facebook and Twitter increased awareness on the brand’s innovation and leadership.
